Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Dunnes and Morrisons. This supervisory role involves overseeing a team responsible for managing all site deliveries, including fresh vegetables, chilled dairy products, frozen goods, dry ingredients and packaging materials. The supervisor will coordinate and support a team which includes forklift drivers, ensuring high standards in yard operations and the effective receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of goods throughout the site. The role requires leading by example, ensuring that both the individual and the team comply with all company policies and procedures relating to product quality, food safety, product integrity and health and safety. Key Responsibilities Ensure that deliveries are unloaded and stored in designated areas Oversee the accurate and timely picking and delivery of materials to production areas Maintain cleanliness and waste disposal standards Act as the first point of contact for all incoming ingredients, dry goods and other materials delivered to the company Ensure that forklift drivers are supplying the ingredients required by production department in an efficient and timely manner and that other materials and supply are delivered to relevant departments promptly Ensure consistent implementation of stock rotation procedures Oversee the accurate and timely updating of all records, with a focus on traceability compliance. Manage waste disposal operations, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to hygiene standards Inspect and verify the quantity and quality of incoming goods Foster a positive and collaborative working environment within the department through regular team meetings and by addressing underperformance with appropriate counselling and disciplinary actions, in line with company policies. Drive good housekeeping standards within the Department and immediate surroundings Develop rotas that align staffing levels with production requirements. Ensure forklifts are serviced and operating safely and efficiently at all times. Demonstrate leadership by consistently following the Companys general policies, including those related to Food Safety, Health and Safety, Attendance etc. Ensure Food Safety compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to remain audit-ready at all times. Contribute to the development of a culture of Integrity, collaboration do the right thing approach in all interactions. Essential Criteria Minimum of 2 years experience supervising a team in a busy warehouse environment Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, inventory management and stock control. Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices. Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite of programmes Previous experience within warehousing, despatch or logistics Ability to supervise, motivate, and coordinate a team effectively Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong written and spoken communication skills for reporting and documentation A degree of flexibility around working schedules Desirable Criteria Previous experience working within a Food Production environment Experience of Continuous Improvement /Lean Management Certified First Aider Experience preparing for or supporting internal/external audits Valid forklift licence Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
