A dynamic and expanding SME is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their team in Basingstoke. Key Responsibilities
* Oversee financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely completion of month-end procedures and preparation of management accounts that provide valuable insight to support business growth.
* Lead the development and improvement of financial controls and processes across multiple divisions, enhancing efficiency, compliance, and system effectiveness.
* Manage the full month-end cycle, including reconciliations, journal postings, and statutory returns, while delivering financial analysis to support informed business decisions.
* Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team of approximately 10 staff, encouraging continuous improvement and professional development.
* Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring audits are conducted efficiently and effectively.
Candidate Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience within a similar SME environment.
* Demonstrated experience managing multiple entities with strong expertise in financial controls, management reporting, and process improvements.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to motivate and develop finance teams.
* Excellent technical knowledge of financial compliance standards, including FRS102, VAT, PAYE/NI, and CIS.
* Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to analyse complex financial information and communicate insights effectively across the organisation.
