Job Opportunity

We are seeking two full time Recovery Workers to join the Argyll and Bute Recovery Service. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to individuals and families in Dunoon and wider Cowal. As a Recovery Worker, you’ll be a vital part of a compassionate, frontline team dedicated to reducing harm and promoting positive change for individuals impacted by drug and alcohol use. Our support is for those aged 18 plus and we work alongside NHS and third sector partners.
Our wider team covers all of Argyll and Bute through an outreach delivery model. We provide a comprehensive range of support, including harm reduction, psychosocial interventions, rapid response and rehabilitation pathways. Our service is highly regarded by those we support, with client feedback consistently highlighting the quality of care and the values-driven dedication of our staff.
Based in Dunoon and reaching out across the Cowal, Recovery Workers are at the heart of our community-based support. You will manage a caseload of individuals and family members, delivering harm reduction, evidence-based interventions and essential practical support. While you’ll work with independence, you’re never alone - you will be backed by a solid team, with guidance from management and training and development.
Essential Skills
Is this role for you?
Your Values - you are an advocate for harm reduction and recovery. You possess an understanding of how deprivation and stigma impact alcohol and drug use and health and wellbeing. You'll bring a positive, "can-do" attitude to our team
Your skills - you are experienced in trauma-skilled, compassionate keyworking. You can apply strengths-based approaches, evidence-based practices and risk assessment. Whether it’s one-to-one sessions, group work, family support, crisis intervention, or IEP, you are flexible, organised, and ready to adapt
Requirements - as you will be providing outreach, being a driver with access to a car is an advantage (though not strictly essential). You must be digitally confident, capable of using IT systems to manage your workload efficiently and accurately
