Head of Finance Location: Stockton-on-Tees Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 (depending on experience) Type: Permanent Reporting: To the external Group Finance Director and the Board Hours: Monday - Friday (Office based) Imperial Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with JMAC Group on a retained basis to support them with recruiting a Head of Finance to be based at their HQ in Stockton Main Purpose: The Head of Finance will be responsible for day-to-day management of all aspects of the Finance function and team. As a senior member of staff you will report directly to the external Group Finance Director and the Board. You will assist in strategic decisions, managing the financials of the whole Group, as well as managing opportunities, financial processes and financial risks on a day-to-day basis, to strengthen the financial position of the Group. Under your management will be a growing Finance Team consisting of a Finance Manager, Treasury, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and reporting roles. In addition there are Commercial & Finance Business Partners within the Group, who are responsible for effective Credit Control, who work within Operational departments. You will lead the finance team looking at efficiencies and improvement of accounting processes, functions and simplification & maximisation of use of Software to streamline day to day tasks. Duties: Reporting directly to the external Group Finance Director & the Board, you will be responsible for: Effective daily management of the full Finance function including: Group Sales Ledgers, credit control & staff operating within that function. Group Purchase Ledgers, including the accuracy & effectiveness of procurement processes, supplier relationships & staff operating within that function. Management of Payroll function Group wide (Sage 50 Payroll - Weekly/Monthly) Treasury Management & Cashflow Forecasting: Working closely with your Treasury function to ensure rolling cashflow forecasts are timely & accurate Key Reporting & MI Including: Monthly management accounts & MI packs by entity & a monthly Group Consolidation. Development of further KPI metrics reporting in conjunction with the Commercial Function Management of reporting resource to ensure month end deadlines are consistently met Annual Group budget production by entity. Continuous improvement and develop of financial & operational processes Dealing with Finance Houses and external bankers on behalf of the Group Management of the YE audit process to successful completion Recruitment, management, development & improvement of your team. Provide Training and guidance to all staff on financial implication but specifically your team. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Directors and senior leadership team and other departmental Managers, to ensure improved awareness of strategic planning, forecasts, KPIs and activities that will in turn allow recommendations on future business decision making and proactive planning. Explain complex financial information clearly and accurately to non-finance managers in order to drive financial KPI's and compliance across the business. Support the management in controlling and managing the costs within budget thereby ensuring optimum financial performance. Manage the financial maintenance of the Group's reporting systems, including cost centres, profit centres, hierarchies and material masters to maintain one system of truth for robust group reporting frameworks. Act as the finance lead, and add value to all business review meetings, making sure the financial performance is understood. Support the development of reporting & tools used to drive functional Key Performance Indicators, aimed at maximising company performance. Requirements: Professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with minimum 5 years post qualification experience. Demonstrable significant experience in managing Finance & Accounts functions on a daily basis to a high standard. Demonstrable experience in an entrepreneurial, high-growth, dynamic environment, including managing & leading a finance team in such an environment. A commercially minded finance professional, able to build & develop working relationships across the Group. Ability to manage upwards & downwards, with demonstrable experience in reporting & presenting to senior management. A pro-active, solution-based person, with the ability to analytically find root causes and provide realistic solutions.
