Position: Hoarding Pathway Co-ordinator - Adult Social Care

A vacancy has arisen for the position of Hoarding Pathway Co-ordinator within Adult Social Care. The successful candidate will serve as a local, accessible contact point across Havering, utilizing a strength-based approach. The role involves engaging with residents to support them in addressing hoarding behaviors and decluttering their properties to mitigate risks to themselves and others.

The candidate will build long-term relationships within the community, supporting individuals facing various long-term challenges such as health issues, disabilities, mental health concerns, long-term unemployment, housing problems, or aging.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Act as a point of contact for residents needing support related to hoarding and related issues.
2. Connect residents with appropriate services and support systems.
3. Build and maintain trusting relationships with community members and partner organizations.
4. Work in community-based locations as needed, approximately 36 hours per week.
5. Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, maintaining positive relationships and providing long-term support.


Requirements:

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Negotiation skills and ability to build partnerships at various levels.
* Experience in social housing, care, or a similar public sector role.
* Experience supporting individuals and handling safeguarding situations.
