An established UK manufacturing business is seeking a commercially focused Commercial Finance Manager to join its finance team based in Derby. This role offers an excellent opportunity to influence key commercial decisions, provide critical financial insight, and support strategic growth across the business.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Manager will act as a key business partner to the Commercial and NPD teams. The successful candidate will lead on product pricing, margin analysis, profitability reporting, and financial modelling—playing a pivotal role in commercial planning and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide insightful financial analysis to support commercial decision-making
* Develop and maintain pricing models and product costing tools
* Analyse gross margins and provide recommendations for pricing strategies
* Collaborate closely with commercial and product development teams
* Oversee product master data management and change control processes
* Support the budgeting and forecasting cycle for commercial and sales functions
* Monitor cost price increases and ensure effective commercial recovery
* Manage and develop two direct reports
* Deputise for the Financial Controller when required
About You
* Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ICAEW) or QBE
* Proven experience in a commercially focused finance role, ideally within manufacturing or FMCG
* Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and driven by continuous improvement
* Experience leading or mentoring a team is desirable
