Job Title: HR Advisor Location: Central Belfast HR Advisor - Belfast VANRATH are currently working with an established professional services organisation to recruit an experienced HR Advisor for their Belfast-based team. The role is offered on an initial 6 month temporary contract, with genuine potential for extension or permanent appointment based on individual performance and business needs. This position would suit a confident HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, advisory-led environment and managing a varied caseload. The Role Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor, you will provide professional HR advice and guidance across a broad range of employee relations and generalist HR matters. You will manage cases from start to finish, support workplace investigations, and ensure that all service level agreements are met. The role requires strong employment law knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver structured, high-quality case management. Key Responsibilities Provide HR advice and guidance via telephone, email and written correspondence. Manage Employee Relations cases in line with employment legislation, policies and best practice. Lead workplace investigations including disciplinary, grievance and dignity at work cases. Draft Terms of Reference and produce detailed investigation reports within agreed timelines. Prepare documentation and provide support in relation to Employment Tribunals and external complaints. Maintain accurate case records and contribute to knowledge and precedent databases. Escalate cases appropriately in line with agreed protocols. Support and lead HR initiatives as required. Supervise or mentor colleagues where appropriate. Engage in ongoing CPD, training and development activities. Essential Criteria CIPD Level 5 Associate Membership (candidates with CIPD Level 3 and a minimum of 5 years' relevant HR Advisory experience will also be considered). Minimum of 2 years' experience in an HR Advisory role. Strong experience managing Employee Relations cases. Sound knowledge of employment law and HR best practice. Demonstrable experience leading investigations relating to discipline, grievance or dignity at work. Desirable Experience Employment Tribunal or court experience. Experience supporting multiple stakeholders or clients. Experience with integrated HR systems. Staff supervision experience. Exposure to job evaluation, change management, organisational design or HR auditing. Experience in designing and delivering training initiatives.
