Job Title: Occupational Health Lead

Location: Grangemouth (with travel across operational sites)
Division: Environment
Reports to: HS&E Performance Manager

Our Environment Division delivers essential infrastructure across the UK water and environmental sectors, supporting long-term frameworks and complex capital programmes for major clients nationwide.

Purpose of the Role

As Occupational Health Lead, you will take responsibility for the coordination and oversight of Occupational Health arrangements across the Environment Division.

This is a key non-clinical role, acting as the central point of contact for Occupational Health across the business. You will work closely with operational teams, HR, senior leadership and external providers to ensure compliance with health surveillance and safety-critical medical requirements, while driving continuous improvement in processes and performance.

Key Accountabilities

1. Implement and maintain Occupational Health standards across the Division.
2. Coordinate health surveillance and safety-critical medicals, ensuring full compliance and zero expired requirements.
3. Maintain accurate systems to track medical requirements, renewal cycles and compliance status.
4. Act as the primary non-clinical contact for Occupational Health queries across the business.
5. Manage relationships with external Occupational Health providers, including performance monitoring and issue resolution.
6. Support audits, assurance activities and compliance reporting.
7. Produce management information and performance data to support senior leadership decision-making.
8. Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements when handling sensitive information.
9. Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external providers.
10. Travel across operational sites to support Occupational Health compliance and assurance.

What Success Looks Like

11. Full compliance with Occupational Health requirements, including health surveillance and safety-critical medicals.
12. Improved performance from Occupational Health providers, including reduced delays and improved attendance rates.
13. Efficient scheduling and coordination, reducing wasted appointments and associated costs.
14. Clear, accurate and timely reporting to support business decisions and assurance requirements.

About You

15. Experience in a non-clinical Occupational Health, HR, compliance or operational coordination role.
16. Proven ability to manage systems, track requirements and maintain accurate records.
17. Experience producing reports, management information and assurance documentation.
18. Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection when handling sensitive information.
19. Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
20. Able to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
21. Willingness to travel to operational sites as required.
