Our client, based in Gloucestershire, is currently recruiting for a Housing Options Officer on a 3-month temporary contract with the opportunity to be extended
The position is due to start ASAP, and is ideally looking for applicants who will attend the office 1-2 days per week - however may be able to work on a fully remote basis if experience can be demonstrated.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with homelessness legislation, and priority homeless decision-making.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Interview applicants and assess their housing needs in line with homelessness legislation.
2. Create and manage Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) to prevent or relieve homelessness.
3. Make homelessness decisions by assessing priority need, eligibility, intentionality, and local connection.
4. Arrange and monitor temporary accommodation to ensure it is suitable and safe.
5. Provide advice on housing options including social housing, private renting, and support services.
6. Maintain accurate case records and issue legal notices/letters in line with the Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act
Experience required:
7. Experience working within a Local Authority
8. Experience of homeless duty/section 184 decision making
Working hours:
9. 37 hours per week
10. 5 days a week
11. Ideally 1-2 days in Gloucestershire based office, considering remote work for experienced candidates
