There is an exciting opportunity for the position of ward manager at Moorside Unit, Irwell Ward. The ward is a male PICU and is 6 bedded.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, highly skilled, and motivated registered mental health nurse, who possesses excellent communication and leadership skills and who is able to support and lead a diversified team of staff, while working closely with the senior leadership team to manage the challenges of the environment and support the patients within our care.
We are committed to the development of staff and the successful candidate will have opportunities for further training, including Leadership training to augment their existing skills.
Responsibilities:
* Manage resources and respond appropriately to operational demands service-wide as required.
* Ensure compliance with the Trust’s quality statements, policies and procedures (examples: Risk Management, Health & Safety). Undertake initial investigation of and furnish reports on complaints. Report difficulties in maintaining policies and procedures to the Service Manager.
* Participate in the agreed appraisal system, including development of junior staff through Preceptorship, Mentorship and Line management supervision.
* Ensure clinical care is client-centered, evidence-based, including gathering findings from clinical audits, and coordinate the care team’s activities daily.
* Provide leadership, support and advice for others in the care of clients and their families.
* Play a major role in promoting Clinical and Social Governance arrangements in the clinical area.
