We are delighted to invite applications for a committed and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive school community in Luton. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with Upper Key Stage 2 pupils, supporting them as they develop independence, resilience, and the academic skills needed to prepare successfully for Year 6.
Our school prides itself on strong relationships, high expectations, and a nurturing ethos. As a Year 5 teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching across the curriculum, creating engaging lessons that challenge pupils while providing the support they need to succeed. You will establish a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment where pupils feel confident, valued, and motivated.
Assessment will play an important role in your practice. You will track pupil progress, identify gaps in learning, and plan targeted support and interventions where necessary. Differentiation and inclusion will be central to your approach, particularly when supporting pupils with SEND, EAL, or additional learning needs.
You will work closely with colleagues across Upper Key Stage 2 to ensure continuity and progression, sharing good practice and contributing to curriculum development. Teaching assistants, the SEN team, and senior leaders will support you in ensuring all pupils receive the help they need to thrive.
Strong relationships with parents and carers are highly valued, and you will be encouraged to communicate openly and positively, keeping families informed and involved in their child’s learning journey.
The school is committed to staff wellbeing and professional development, offering access to high-quality CPD, mentoring, and opportunities to take on additional responsibilities.
