OP1 Trainee Operative
Contract: Cheshire East Highways

We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join our Maintenance Team on the Cheshire East Highways contract. This hands-on role is part of a two-year apprenticeship in Construction Highways Maintenance, where you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to deliver essential maintenance works across the network. You’ll gain valuable on-the-job experience in tasks such as carriageway and footway repairs, while completing relevant training courses to ensure safety and compliance.
The Role
•To complete a two-year apprenticeship course in construction highways maintenance
•To undertake highway specific training courses as appropriate to ensure compliance
•Work as part of the highway maintenance operational team.
•Learn and carry out a variety of tasks across highway maintenance; including but not limited to, carriageway and footway works.
•Understand and follow work procedures to ensure own safety and safety of others
About You
•Functional Skills (Level 2 / GCSE) in English and Maths are NOT essential, but will be required prior to completion of the apprenticeship
•Basic understanding of health and safety requirements
•Ability to deal effectively with peers, client representatives and the general public.
