The Bridge Project South West delivers the Independent Sexual Violence Advisor Service across Devon and Cornwall for all adults and children who have reported, or are considering reporting sexual assault, rape or sexual abuse. The Bridge Project is a service of TWCC Projects Ltd which is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Women's Centre Cornwall. The Women's Centre Cornwall are the lead provider and contract holder for the service which is delivered in partnership with Devon Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Services, Intercom Trust, Konnect Communities, The Children's Society, The Olive Project and West Cornwall Women's Aid
PURPOSE
The primary focus of this position will be to deliver a responsive and trauma-informed onboarding function for the ISVA Service. Working with a small team the primary areas will include initial contacts, assessments, interim support planning and delivery, liaison with referral agencies, reporting, data compliance and continued development of the case management system. In addition, the Team Leader will line manage Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* To provide line management, including case management supervision for navigators and First response team practitioners, working with adults and children
* Participate in the development and delivery of training and awareness-raising activities to promote understanding of the issues related to sexual violence and support services available
* To represent the service at external events and training
* Ensure that all support is delivered in line with the required standards and procedures
* Manage staff duties and rotas to ensure adequate cover is in place across the service, particularly during absence, annual leave, or peaks in demand.
* To provide cover and additional capacity for Options meetings and short-term support for Survivors exploring whether to report
* To provide cover and additional capacity for the main telephone line and email inboxes
* To provide cover and additional capacity for processing referrals, undertaking initial contact and completing assessments
* Coordinate the allocation of survivors to named ISVA's
* Ensure that all adults and children accessing The Bridge Project receive a high quality, trauma informed service that meets their needs and supports any engagement with the criminal justice process
* Ensure that the services are accessible to everyone who needs them and tailored to address any barriers to ensure that individual needs are met
* Ensure that all staff understand their role, practice good professional boundaries and work in accordance with Bridge Project expectations, policies and procedures
* To implement changes and improvements as directed by the organisation
* Support the team to embrace the partnership model of working and embed a "team around the person" approach
* Support the Service Manager with the development and coordination of volunteering and lived experience opportunities across the service including the delivery of training
* Ensure that accurate and timely records are maintained by all staff including appropriate case notes, equalities and outcomes monitoring and feedback
* Ensure that safe working practices, including lone working, risk assessments, safeguarding and escalation processes are followed by staff
* Act as a Safeguarding Champion for the service
* Completion of internal and external reports including narratives, case studies and data analysis
* Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key external stakeholders including the Police, Office for the Police and Crime Commissioner, Crown Prosecution Service and Sexual Assault Referral Centres
* To contribute towards local and national consultations in the criminal justice field ensuring that the service upholds very high standards of confidentiality and is fully compliant with all GDPR requirements
* To undertake the induction training programme.
* To work at all times within the policies, procedures and ethos of The Bridge Project and TWCC.
* Flexibility to cover 'out of hours' where necessary and when required provide direct support, including interim cover during staff absences, urgent casework, assessments, court attendance and manage a small caseload to maintain service continuity and minimise disruption to survivors.
* To participate in regular line management and external supervision
* To attend Team Meetings and Professional Development Days
* To develop and lead on specialist areas of practice
* To support the team to maintain their own wellbeing whilst supporting the needs of survivors accessing the service
