Job Description
A dynamic and detail-focused Management Accountant is required to join a busy finance team. Working 30 hours per week, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The role also includes processing monthly payroll for approximately 350 employees and overseeing the administration of the pension scheme.
Key Duties
* Process monthly and annual payroll for around 350 employees using Sage, including posting and reconciliation to the management accounts
* Administer and maintain the company pension scheme
* Calculate and process monthly stock adjustments across various departments to ensure margins remain on budget
* Manage the fixed asset register, ensuring all new additions are recorded and monthly depreciation is accurately calculated and posted
* Complete all month-end procedures and account reconciliations
* Produce a monthly balance sheet as part of the management accounts
* Complete year-end procedures and reconciliations in a timely manner
* Provide timely financial and statistical information to support operational decision-making
* Assist the team with the successful completion of the annual financial audit
* Support ad-hoc banking and financial processing as required
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar accounts role within a medium-sized business; experience in the hospitality sector is desirable
* AAT Level 4 (or equivalent qualification/experience)
* Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data confidently
* Previous experience of Sage 200 and Sage 50 is advantageous
* High attention to detail and accuracy in all outputs
* Highly organised, self-disciplined, and able to manage competing demands
