Five Education is seeking a teaching assistant to work 1:1 with SEND students at an excellent secondary school in Bath, starting after the October half-term. Ideally you would have experience working with pupils between the ages of 10 to 16, and you must be able to support children with a range of special educational needs including learning disabilities, ASD, ADHD and SLCN.
The school has great feedback from our candidates previously placed there, and the in-house team are very supportive and welcoming. The school may wish to arrange one or multiple trial days with candidates prior to making a firm decision.
Main Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping to make the curriculum accessible and engaging
• Promote independence, confidence and self-regulation in students
• Collaborate with class teachers, the SENCo and other staff to meet individual needs
• Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction through praise and consistency
• Help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment
