We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fully Qualified Counsellor to join our Student Experience team. As a Student Counsellor, you will be part of a small team providing 1:1 counselling to students across the Group, working closely to ensure high-level support for all students receiving counselling.
This role involves delivering 1:1 counselling face-to-face, via telephone, or Microsoft Teams. You will liaise with external agencies and other support staff within the College to meet students' needs appropriately, maintaining multi-disciplinary boundaries.
As a Student Counsellor, you should:
* Be educated to a minimum postgraduate level 5 diploma in counselling in either an Integrative, Humanistic, or Person-Centred model
* Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English and Maths or Level 2 equivalent
* Be registered with a professional organisation accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), e.g., BACP
You should also be able to demonstrate:
* Experience of working in a post-qualifying counselling role with appropriate supervision
* Experience and understanding of the concerns of young people
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Good administrative and IT skills related to report writing and maintaining statistical records
