About the Role
We’re looking for a driven, personable BDR to be the engine behind Aspen’s new business pipeline. This is a front-line prospecting role — you’ll be identifying and engaging SMB businesses across the Midlands to Highlands that fit our Ideal Customer Profile: owner-managed companies, typically 50–100 seats, who want a genuine IT partner, not just a supplier.
You don’t need to come from an MSP background. You do need to be curious, resilient, and genuinely motivated by opening doors. The businesses you’ll be speaking to are real companies run by real people, and the best conversations happen when you actually care about whether Aspen is the right fit for them — not just whether you can book the meeting.
What We’re Looking For in a Candidate
Someone genuinely motivated by prospecting — comfortable on the phone, confident on LinkedIn, and thoughtful with their outreach.
Someone who listens first. The companies we serve want a partner who understands their business, not someone reading from a script.
Someone with the discipline to maintain quality data in a CRM and the instinct to know when a prospect is genuinely worth pursuing.
Someone who is solutions-focused and resilient — rejection is part of the job, and you handle it with good energy.
Someone who wants to grow. This role is a genuine launchpad into BDM or Account Management at Aspen.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and engage SMB prospects across the Midlands to Highlands through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn, and campaign follow-up.
Qualify prospects against Aspen’s Ideal Customer Profile and book well-briefed meetings for the Business Development team.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records across HubSpot at all times.
Follow up inbound leads and marketing-generated responses efficiently.
Collaborate closely with BDMs and the Head of Sales & Marketing to align on pipeline priorities.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Experience in an outbound prospecting, sales, or lead generation role.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated and comfortable working to targets.
Organised, disciplined, and thorough with data and follow-up.
Desirable
Experience in a technology or MSP environment.
Familiarity with HubSpot or a similar CRM.
Understanding of the SMB owner-manager market.
What Success Looks Like
You’re consistently generating qualified, well-briefed meetings that the BDM team can convert.
Your HubSpot data is clean, accurate, and up to date.
You’re building a genuine understanding of the businesses you’re speaking to and what Aspen can do for them.
You’re developing toward a BDM or Account Manager role.
