The Opportunity: At Leonardo, we have an opportunity for a Radar Reliability Engineer to join our Supportability team. The Supportability Engineering discipline is involved in all stages of a programme—from initial development, production, customer support and repairs, to disposal. This role suits someone with a background in electronics design who understands circuit diagrams and component selection.
What You’ll Do
* Influence design through Reliability, Maintainability, and Testability analysis.
* Model product reliability and generate Functional Block Diagrams.
* Create and maintain Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA).
* Understand failure detection methods including Built-In-Test (BIT).
* Advise on and develop Reliability Growth Tests and Finite Element Analyses.
Work across the Surveillance Radar business area to analyse, assess, and influence the supportability characteristics, strategy, and performance of Leonardo Radar products.
As a Supportability Engineer you will engage with Integrated Project Teams to deliver Supportability Engineering work packages in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Testability. You will work closely with colleagues across multiple Engineering disciplines to implement reliability solutions on complex systems before they reach production.
What We Need From You
* Experience of Electronic Product Design.
* Knowledge of MIL-HDBK-217 Reliability Prediction Modelling.
* Knowledge of Design Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA).
* Ideally an Honours degree in engineering or a science-based discipline, with industry, defence, or relevant experience.
