Job Purpose
To support the delivery of high-quality care and early education for children, ensuring their individual needs are met in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. The role is tailored for candidates entering through an experience-based route, enabling them to demonstrate skills and knowledge gained from prior relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment that supports children's development and well-being.
* Plan, deliver, and evaluate play and learning opportunities that reflect the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
* Observe, assess, and record children's development, ensuring progress is shared with colleagues and parents/carers.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a stimulating environment, both indoors and outdoors.
* Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to promote effective partnership working.
* Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and equality and diversity policies at all times.
* Engage in professional development opportunities to further knowledge and skills.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
* Hold a full and relevant Level 2 qualification, or hold a Level 3 qualification that is not full and relevant (e.g., Health and Social Care, Playwork, Teaching in Schools, etc.) with relevant experience.
* Have a minimum of 1 year's continuous experience working within an Early Years setting.
* Hold a relevant English qualification equivalent to Level 2 Key Skills / GCSE grade C/4 or above
* Show commitment, enthusiasm, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to adapt practice to meet the individual needs of children.
* A reflective approach to practice and willingness to learn.
* Experience supporting children with additional needs.
