An opportunity has arisen for a Transport Clerk to join the Kettering operation. In this busy role, you will support the daily activities of the transport operation which will operate with approximately 90 tractor units and 230 Trailers. In addition, approximately 120 Drivers are employed by Wincanton at the site.

TRANSPORT CLERK MATERNITY COVER – 06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00 rotating
An opportunity has arisen for a Transport Clerk to join the Kettering operation. In this busy role, you will support the daily activities of the transport operation which will operate with approximately 90 tractor units and 230 Trailers. In addition, approximately 120 Drivers are employed by Wincanton at the site.
The Role:
* Reporting to the Transport Shift Manager
* Accurate completion of daily transport paperwork in line with company policy and procedures.
* Despatch and debrief of drivers
* Collation of statistical information for transport reporting purposes
* Close liaison with other Distribution Centre's and Stores
* Dealing with queries from depots and Stores
* General administration duties in line with transport legislation, company policy and procedures
* Microlise input
The Person:
The successful candidate:
* Will be fully flexible in relation to shifts and duties and able to work any five shifts from seven
* Be an effective communicator and be able to develop good working relationships at all levels within a well-established transport team
* Possess an excellent telephone manner
* Have strong numerical skills
* Reliable and punctual
* Possess strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation
* Comfortable working in a pressurized environment and to tight deadlines.
* Be PC literate
