Senior training fellow in trauma & orthopaedics (registrar)

Offer description

Whilst this post is not recognised for training you will be joining our current team of 28 SpR's and 12 ST/CT lower level posts and have equal access to teaching. You will participate fully in the Directorate's education programme and have the opportunity to build on your skills in the full range of trauma and orthopaedic services - including, trauma and elective theatres, fracture clinics, ward work.


Key Areas/Tasks

1. Assessment, diagnosis and management of all patients admitted to Trauma & Orthopaedics.
2. Management of all patients on the trauma and elective wards, and any outlying wards.
3. To participate in outpatient, elective and fracture clinics.
4. To participate in trauma and elective surgery.
5. Referral of patients to other specialties.
6. Necessary investigation e.g. blood samples for cross match, emergency x-ray etc.
7. Appropriate transfer of patients, either:
o Admission to inpatient facilities
o Discharge with suitable follow up at the hospital
o Discharge to General Practitioner
o Discharge with no follow-up
