Vision for Education are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and engaging Outreach Worker to join a dedicated ‘Outreach Team’ within an SEN setting supporting children with Autism and complex learning needs. As an Outreach Worker you will play a key role in building trusted relationships, promoting positive well-being, and supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and personal development. You will need to be a driver for this role as it will involve working in Youth Centres in and around the Worcestershire area. Hourspm Monday-Friday. This role will be offered on a temporary-permanent basis. About the role: Supporting young people with conditions like Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, speech/language needs, or social-emotional difficulties in a community centre environment Build trust with young people who struggle to attend school Provide 1:1 support tailored to their needs Help develop social skills Emotional regulation Independence and life skills Support access to education, training, or activities Work closely with families, carers, and schools Manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies Safeguard vulnerable young people About the school: Working for an all-through school on an outreach basis, catering to pupils aged 7–18, with a strong emphasis on supporting learners with additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Autism, ADHD, and non-verbal communication needs. The school provides a well-resourced learning environment where materials and activities are consistently accessible, encouraging pupil engagement. This approach promotes self-directed learning, fostering independence and decision-making skills, while maintaining a structured framework for more focused sessions. A strong emphasis is placed on language development, with speech and language therapy embedded into the school day. This is particularly beneficial for pupils with communication challenges or those requiring additional support with literacy and language. Through its commitment to continuous provision and integrated clinical support, the school promotes an inclusive environment where every pupil is equipped with the tools and opportunities to succeed, regardless of their individual needs. About you: Patience and empathy Strong communication (especially with non-verbal or anxious young people) Behaviour management (e.g. de-escalation techniques) Understanding of SEN conditions (especially autism & ADHD) Ability to build trust over time Independence Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds. Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and making a meaningful contribution. Confident in using initiative and taking a proactive approach to challenges. Experience of working with young people in a family support role would be an advantage. Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check. Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are a suitable qualification for working with children and experience working with special education needs.
