Workshop Based Engineer
Location: West Portway Industrial Estate, Andover
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30)
Apart from providing opportunities to develop your skills, Mitie is looking for a Workshop Based Engineer for the SludgeTEK business. You will maintain and improve the reliability, performance and compliance of specialist workshop and mobile processing equipment.
Role Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance, inspection and repair of SludgeTEK workshop equipment and associated assets
* Undertake servicing, fault‑finding and repair of mobile and static processing equipment within the Andover workshop
* Work in line with company procedures, industry standards and all health & safety requirements
* Support and oversee subcontract labour to ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard
* Complete accurate work reports and documentation using company systems while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
* Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent formal training in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
* Experience with industrial installation and control systems, including PLC or microprocessor‑based systems
* Knowledge of motor control methods such as Star/Delta starters and inverter drives (up to 130 kW)
* Experience within water, utilities or process/manufacturing environments (desirable)
* Full, clean UK driving licence
