About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Visiting Mum Family Engagement Manager to join our team. This role focuses on supporting Welsh mums in custody at HMP Styal, helping them maintain meaningful relationships with their children and families. You will work collaboratively with our Visiting Mum community worker and other stakeholders to deliver a service that prioritizes family connection and holistic support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide welcoming, respectful support to Welsh mothers accessing the Visiting Mum services
2. Triage and assess new arrivals to identify needs and risks
3. Support family contact, including visits, casework, and advocacy
4. Deliver family-focused programmes and workshops in custody and the community
5. Work closely with community colleagues and partner agencies
6. Maintain accurate records and contribute to monthly KPI reporting
About You
7. Experience in family support, casework, social care, or similar frontline roles
8. Compassionate, confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills
9. Understanding of the challenges faced by mothers in custody and their families
10. Able to manage a varied workload, including direct support and reporting
11. Committed to safeguarding, confidentiality, and anti-discriminatory practice
12. Welsh language skills, criminal justice experience, or a driving licence are desirable but not essential
