This is a hybrid role and requires travel to our Cardiff office at least 1 day per week
We are looking for someone to be responsible for providing support and oversight to the Travel Team in meeting their risk management responsibilities.
As a Risk Manager you will ensure risk management practices, such as processes for risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting are in accordance with EUI’s risk management framework.
Reporting directly to the Senior Risk Business Partner you will provide a mixture of direct support and oversight to a wide range of business functions. As part of the central EUI 1st Line Risk and Control Team, you will work closely with the Travel leadership team to ensure that risks are identified and quantified with effective control design. You will also ensure that there is a subsequent assessment of control effectiveness, enabling informed decision making and controlled risk taking, supporting good customer outcomes.
You will be responsible for ensuring that Travel management teams are escalating, managing and reporting on the risks to Travel. You will be an experienced risk professional who has a clear understanding of risk theory and can apply this in a practical situation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Support the implementation and embedding of EUI’s risk framework and standards in the Travel business areas.
* Develop robust key risk indicator reporting alongside a regular risk management review process.
* Provide qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the business adherence to risk management requirements.
* Support the interpretation of compliance and regulatory requirements relevant to the Travel Teams
* Oversee the quarterly risk and control self‑assessment process and the quarterly attestation against group controls for EUI, producing informative and timely reporting on to risk committees and Board.
* Help shape and implement a robust risk management framework through regular with contact with all Travel departments providing advice and support.
* Lead a high performing, happy and talented team, ensuring ongoing professional development and day to day guidance and support.
* Foster strong working relationships with Senior Managers in the business to support with decision making based on risk and control profile.
* Support and help shape the embedding of a new management system.
* Attend risk working groups and committees to represent Travel Risk Management.
Essential Experience & Skills
* An understanding of Travel risk theory and practice.
* Good analytical skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience & Skills
* Understanding of Admiral Travel products, processes, and services.
