Melton (Nr Hull)
We have an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Warehouse facility in Melton. This role is suited to an individual who has operational management experience within Warehouse/Distribution or Logistics. It involves leading an experienced warehouse team of approximately 28 FTE across 24/5 to deliver the whole warehouse operation. The role ensures all customer service requirements are met while continually improving cost efficiency and quality of service in line with our goals and targets. It also plays a pivotal role in encouraging and supporting the PPE Business unit in developing synergies and our culture within the RS group.
What you can expect to be doing
* Day‑to‑day management and planning of inbound, outbound, and distribution operations, ensuring adequate resources are in place and all stock is received, booked, and orders despatched within cut‑off times.
* Work in partnership with the transport manager to ensure all deliveries are made on time and in full.
* Manage the daily operational requirements of the warehouse, ensuring all procedures are implemented and continuously improving where required.
* Maintain health and safety standards, focusing on near‑miss reporting and prevention, completing accident/incident investigations, and ensuring SSOWs are reviewed and updated as required.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to Warehouse TLs to ensure all people‑related activities are completed within the required timeframes, including but not limited to colleague induction, personal development planning, mandatory training, attendance/absence management, pay reviews, and goal setting.
* Maintain high quality standards within the warehouse and participate in continuous improvement across the safety solutions business.
* Maintain high levels of stock integrity and conduct stock counts to ensure all inventory control measures are maintained.
* Manage the external facilities provision for the site, working with external companies as required to ensure overall maintenance is completed per site schedules.
* Investigate any non‑conformance or quality issues to identify root causes and implement measures to limit recurrence.
* Proactively manage all elements within the warehouse to maintain BRCGS standards and accreditation.

* A proven track record in supervisory experience within a warehouse operation, demonstrating a results focus, problem‑solving ability, and sustainable continuous improvement.
* Strong people‑management skills with experience of coaching, mentoring, team motivation and performance management.
* Strong commercial, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to explain tasks efficiently and effectively.
* Self‑motivation and flexibility with regard to working hours.
* Results‑oriented focus and a proven ability to work well under pressure.
