What is the Creative Quarter?
The Creative Quarter is central to the charity Creative Folkestone’s mission to revitalise communities through creativity. Comprising 60 restored properties with over 280 mixed-use units, it supports a dynamic community of approximately 300 artists and creatives, contributing to the rejuvenation of the local economy by fostering numerous businesses and job opportunities, and encouraging visitor footfall. Income from the Creative Quarter goes towards estate maintenance, and helps fund the delivery of our charitable objectives and projects, and ensures the organisation’s future sustainability.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Folkestone for an Estates Manager. The Estates Manager will oversee the management and maintenance of properties within Creative Folkestone's portfolio, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and align with the organization's objectives. Day-to-day tasks include conducting regular inspections, supervising maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, managing budgets, and supporting sustainability initiatives. The role requires collaboration with stakeholders, tenants, and the wider community to ensure a high standard of service and effective property operation.
Skills and experience
* Experience in property management, facilities management, or estates management
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations, compliance, and building maintenance standards
* Strong organizational, budgeting, and financial management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and tenants
* Proficiency in using property management systems and relevant computer software
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and work collaboratively with a team
* Experience in a similar role within arts or cultural organizations is a plus
* Relevant qualifications in property management, facilities management, or a related field are desirable

Collaborating with local communities, partners, and stakeholders, Creative Folkestone envisions transforming the town into a thriving hub for living, working, visiting, and studying. The organization leads five key projects, including the vibrant Creative Quarter, Folkestone Artworks—a stunning urban outdoor art exhibition—and the renowned Folkestone Triennial. Through a variety of arts initiatives, events, and education programs, Creative Folkestone actively contributes to community development, cultural enrichment, and economic growth in the area.
