This Quality Engineer will report to the Quality and Assurance Manager and will work within Governance, Risk, Compliance & Quality with UKPN Services based in our Heathrow/Central London Area office. You will be a permanent employee.

Responsibilities
* Provide competent quality management advice to promote compliance to ISO 9001:2015 in the review, audit, certification, induction and management of procedures and processes in electrical infrastructure construction projects.
* Provide Quality Management advice about ISO 9001:2015 to other advisors, managers, employees, contractors and clients, during tendering and construction phases. Maintain UK Power Networks Services' quality management system to support design, build, finance, operate and maintain primary electrical infrastructure for its clients.
* Contribute to the review of existing and development of new procedures/processes, including central UK Power Networks group and project/contract specific procedures. Communicate, implement and monitor within the directorate.
* Monitor compliance with ISO 9001:2015, procedures, legal and regulatory obligations, and client standards. Plan and conduct project audits, produce audit reports, and ensure findings are resolved promptly.
* Assist Project Managers in reviewing quality-related project documents and requirements. Develop inductions, training and communication materials for the project team and subcontractors. Gather lessons learned and maintain the project cost of poor quality process. Provide quality updates for monthly reports and support incident investigations.
* Provide monitoring to ensure suppliers and subcontractors meet quality expectations. This may include external audits and random inspections to identify issues and highlight good performance.
* Monitor site certification of materials and equipment, including tool calibration, and maintain related project records.
* Facilitate third-party audits by external certification bodies and champion quality management system processes to sustain certification requirements.
Essential
* HNC (minimum) in Quality Management, Construction, Project Management or Technical/Engineering or equivalent
* Practitioner member of the Chartered Quality Institute with pathway to Chartered status (support provided)
* Quality management system experience in the construction industry (not QC/inspection)
* Experience with UK CDM regulations (2015)
* Trained QMS Auditor/Internal QMS Auditor with ISO 9001:2015 auditing experience
* Experience in root cause analysis
* Ability to obtain client access passes/licenses for UK industries (airports, defence, nuclear, rail, etc.)
* Valid UK driving licence
Desirable
* Flexibility in approach and ability to priorities as directed
* Auditing to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
* Knowledge of ISO 55001:2024, ISO 44001:2017, ISO 19650 series
* Team player with strong communication, planning and decision-making skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
