To support the development and implementation of positive behaviour strategies for students, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This role involves direct support to staff, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to continuous professional development in behaviour and wellbeing practices.
Salary: £35,000 pro rata based on 42 weeks per year, term-time only.
About the RoleBehaviour Planning & Support
oDevelop, implement, and regularly update Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans for students.
oWork under the line management of Sarah Dobie, maintaining open and consistent communication with Executive Head and Deputies of Barrow and Fern School.
oConduct thorough incident reviews and de-briefs and provide constructive feedback to staff and students.
oOffer in-the-moment coaching and support to staff in managing behaviours of concern
oManaging data analysis of incidents and noting incidents onto the iMap systems to create graphs, reports or to spot any behavioural trends.
Assessment & Intervention
oUtilise sensory checklists to assess and address students’ sensory processing needs.
oAdminister and review behaviour assessment tools, including Behaviour Rating Scales and Motivational Assessment Scales, to monitor progress and inform interventions.
Training & Development
oUndertake training to become a certified instructor in ProAct SCIP-R techniques and deliver training across both school sites.
oSupport the Clinical Lead in delivering training on autism, sensory integration, and communication strategies.
Collaboration & Communication
oWork closely with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to student wellbeing.
oMaintain accurate, confidential records of student behaviour, interventions, and outcomes.
Professional Development
oStay informed on current research and best practices in behaviour management, autism support, and student wellbeing.
oMaintain certification in Mental Health First Aid for Children and Youth.

Requirements
Essential:
•Experience working within Special Educational Needs (SEN) school settings.
•Experience supporting children and young people with complex behavioural needs.
•Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and behaviour management strategies.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
•Trained in Mental Health First Aid for Children and Youth.
•Willingness to become a certified ProAct SCIP-R instructor.
Desirable:
•Relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Autism and Learning Disabilities
•Experience delivering staff training or workshops.
•Knowledge of sensory integration and autism-specific strategies.
•Familiarity with behaviour assessment tools and data analysis
