One that makes a difference, is empathetic, fair and creates opportunities for everyone.Role purposeIn this exciting role, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of financial control and reporting within GB Bank, taking charge of financial control ensuring precision, compliance, and strategic financial insights across the organisation.The main purpose of this role is to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions, including interpretation of developing accounting standards and implementing them within the Bank to ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations, and providing timely and meaningful financial information to stakeholders.As Financial Accounting Manager you will find yourself:Managing the financial control of the Bank, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial resultsTake charge of critical accounting areas such as hedge accounting, revenue recognition and loan loss provisioning, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.Manage the preparation of financial statements, ensuring meticulous review and interpretation of financial results.Establish and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring the effectiveness of procedures and adherence to regulatory requirements.Develop and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.Provide guidance on upcoming technical accounting standardsAssist in the preparation of regulatory and tax returns of the BankAd-Hoc Projects: Drive and contribute to ad-hoc projects and requests, showcasing your versatility and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.Skills and experience - you are/will have most of the following:Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with strong technical accounting skills, with an ability to interpret and apply accounting principles and regulations.Relevant experience gained from working with similar financial services organisations.Experience in leading the month-end close process and preparing financial statements.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyse complex financial information and identify trends and issues.Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, assign work, and delegate tasks effectively.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.Strong communication and presentation skills, with an ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.Experience in liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies, including tax authorities and other financial institutionsWhat we can offer you:
