About you
We’re looking for a qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at PDSA in Nottingham. If you thrive on variety and want to make a meaningful impact, this could be the role for you. At PDSA, no two days are ever the same, you’ll see a wide range of medical and surgical cases that will challenge and develop your skills while making a real difference to pets and owners who really need our help.
You’ll bring adaptability and resilience to handle a diverse caseload, along with the clinical confidence to make sound, evidence-based decisions. You’re comfortable discussing realistic treatment options, creating clear plans that balance best practice with each owner’s circumstances, and you take a pragmatic, welfare-focused approach to doing what’s right for every pet. Excellent communication skills are key, you’ll be able to build trust with clients and work positively with colleagues across the hospital.
You’ll be a team player who enjoys a collaborative, supportive environment where sharing knowledge and learning from one another is encouraged. Working alongside an experienced, caring team, you’ll help champion our mission, inspire client contributions and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
Work pattern & rota
The work is varied and rewarding, and no two days are ever the same. We want you to enjoy the right work–life balance for your needs, so we offer flexible options alongside a supportive team environment with full time or part time considered. Both full-time and part-time options are currently available and we currently have opportunities for permanent as well as temporary positions.
About the hospital
Nottingham PDSA Pet Wellbeing Centre is a purpose‑built, modern veterinary hospital designed to deliver high‑quality care to pets while supporting a genuinely collaborative clinical environment. As one of PDSA’s flagship sites, the Nottingham hospital was created to bring together advanced facilities, efficient workflows, and a strong team culture — making it an exceptional place for teamwork, case discussion, and shared learning.
Our clinical team includes vets and nurses with a wide range of special interests, from internal medicine and soft‑tissue surgery to orthopaedics, dentistry, and diagnostic imaging. This diversity gives you access to a broad pool of knowledge and experience when discussing cases and developing treatment plans, ensuring every patient benefits from collective expertise.
The hospital itself is fully equipped to support high‑quality, first‑opinion and emergency care.

Certificate of Sponsorship (COS)
For candidates requiring visa sponsorship, we are able to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS) for eligible Vet Surgeons.
