The Opportunity:
We are searching for aFundraising Managerto join our fundraising team and fill an integral part of the fundraising strategy at Reach Child and Youth Development Society (REACH). The Fundraising Manager is responsible to work with the Executive Director to develop and implement ReachChild and Youth Development Society’s fundraising plan. This includes event coordination, donor development and public awareness as well as supporting and coordinating with all program staff and volunteers
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Coordination
* Oversee the full operation of events ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment, entertainment, volunteers and staff are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards and licensing requirements and reporting are met.
* Provide support to the Events Committee, bringing forth recommendations for various fundraising events, such as galas, dinners, tournaments, community events, etc.
* Plan and support Third Party events including organizing staff and volunteers, renting facilities, arranging catering or meals, purchasing decorations, obtaining donation of auction items organizing entertainers, and scheduling the flow of activity at events.
* Oversee the fundraising team in establishing and implementing the fundraising plan.
* Participate in the recruitment and selection of program staff and volunteers. Provide orientation, determines training needs and provide training to event staff and volunteers.
* Support the Foundation’s Board of Directors and develops and oversees the fundraising plan.
* Attend Foundation and Sub Committee Meetings, prepare minutes and agenda packages.
* Monitor and authorize program expenditures and maintains financial and electronic records in accordance with established procedures. Prepare the program budget for submission and presentation to supervisor and/or the Foundation Board of Directors.
* Assist in the coordination of the AGM as required, including preparing a report on the past year’s fundraising activities outlining successes and funds raised and maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the fundraising database.
* Generate donor reports and analysis to inform fundraising strategies.
Donor and Community Liaison
* Work with the Reach Marketing and Communications Manager to raise awareness of the charity and assists with articles for the Reach Society newsletter, donor recognition and related media and public relations
* Post on Reach Events Instagram account to engage followers and cultivate sponsor and donors
* Liaise with donors, other community service event providers to coordinate events and to secure donations.
* Coordinate donor recognition and relationship building with donors and sponsors.
* Act as an ambassador promoting Reach Society and Reach Foundation within the community by contacting prominent members of the local community. Speak at meetings comprised of community members outlining Reach’s programs and services and the need for donations to support these activities. Solicit corporate sponsors and donations from the public.
* Ensure all fundraising activities are conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards, including donor privacy and reporting regulations.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in human/social services field
* Three (3) years’ experience in fundraising or events coordination including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience, Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
* Knowledge and experience in child development and/or social services
* Familiar with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, relevant social media applications and online fundraising platforms
* Commitment to active participation in reflective practice, and continuous quality improvement.
* Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment effectively with minimal direction
* Strong technical skills: including ability to work with online fundraising platforms (Givergy, raffles, gaming license applications etc.)
