Duty Manager - The Marine Hotel Job Title: Hotel Duty Manager Location: Marine Hotel / Paignton Reports To: General Manager / Deputy General Manager Position Type: Full-Time, Split Shifts Working Hours: Split Shift (07:30-11:30 / 16:00-20:00), 5 days per week including weekends and holidays Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Hotel Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hotel during split-shift hours. This key position ensures the smooth running of guest services including breakfast and dinner service, bedroom inspections, and front desk support. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example during peak operating hours. Key Responsibilities: Guest Service Operations Oversee and assist with breakfast and dinner service, ensuring high standards of food presentation, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. Proactively interact with guests to resolve issues, handle special requests, and enhance overall guest experience. Housekeeping & Room Checks Conduct daily bedroom inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and readiness for guest arrivals. Communicate any issues or feedback to the housekeeping team for prompt resolution. Front Desk & Reception Support Assist the front desk team with check-ins and guest inquiries during evening hours. Ensure guest arrivals and departures are smooth and efficient. Leadership & Coordination Act as a point of contact during duty hours, coordinating between departments to ensure smooth operations. Provide leadership and support to operational teams, stepping in where needed during busy periods. Health & Safety / Compliance Ensure all public areas and dining facilities meet health, safety, and hygiene standards. Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly.
