Location: King’s Lynn (SEMH School)
Position: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
Start Date: January 2025

We are seeking 4 enthusiastic, positive, and determined Teaching Assistants to join a fantastic team at a specialist Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school in King’s Lynn. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people who face additional challenges in education.

Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of pupils.
2. Build positive relationships with students to foster trust and engagement.
3. Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
4. Assist in implementing tailored learning plans to help students achieve their potential.
5. Promote independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion among pupils.
6. Support during less structured parts of the school day, such as breaks and lunchtime.
7. Assist in creating a calm, nurturing, and supportive classroom environment.
8. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of pupils.

Requirements:

9. Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school or SEMH setting.
10. A patient, resilient, and determined approach to working with challenging behaviours.
11. Ability to build rapport with pupils and encourage positive behaviour.
12. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
13. A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
14. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
