Job Title: Joiner
Location: Warwick University, Coventry
Contract Type: Temporary (Project-Based)
Salary: £20 - £22 per hour
Reporting To: Site Supervisor / Project Manager
Job Purpose:
To carry out high-quality joinery work as part of a construction or refurbishment project at Warwick University. The role involves working on-site to install, repair, and maintain wooden structures and fittings in accordance with project specifications and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Install doors, windows, partitions, staircases, and other wooden fixtures.
2. Read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
3. Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials accurately.
4. Work collaboratively with other trades and contractors on-site.
5. Ensure all work complies with building regulations and safety standards.
6. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Requirements:
Essential:
7. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent.
8. Proven experience in site-based joinery work.
9. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
10. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
11. CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
12. Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Desirable:
13. Experience working on university or public sector projects.
14. PASMA or IPAF certification.
15. First Aid certification.
Working Conditions:
16. Outdoor and indoor site work across Warwick University campus.
17. PPE must be worn at all times.
18. May involve working at height or in confined spaces.
