We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Protection Service as a Principal Public Protection Officer.
Middlesbrough Council’s Public Protection Service is passionate about improving the lives and living standards of all its residents, protecting the environment, protecting consumer interests, and supporting a strong local economy.
Working alongside other Principal Officers and Service Managers you will take a lead role in our Private Sector Housing team, focusing on the licencing and management of houses in multiple occupation, investigating substandard housing conditions and other housing-related issues, undertaking research and developing intelligence on the local private sector housing market, development of housing support and enforcement strategies, and supporting the delivery of the selective landlord licensing and additional licensing schemes.
You will also work across the wider Public Protection functions and on corporate matters such as emergency planning.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have considerable knowledge and experience in these fields and who have proven skills, experience and qualifications in management and leadership.
