We are delighted to be exclusively instructed on this senior in-house role with our client, The Church of Scotland.
Based in Edinburgh, this national organisation provides pastoral care and community support through its congregations, and delivers vital social services—including elderly care, mental health support, and family assistance—via its charity arm, CrossReach.
This is a permanent, full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a wide range of legal matters, with a focus on property transactions and contract law, within a large and diverse charitable setting.
The role involves managing your own caseload of residential and commercial conveyancing matters, leasing, and drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts. The legal team also advises on a broad range of compliance, charity, and regulatory issues and provides support across the organisation at local and national levels.
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualifying experience, strong drafting skills, and a current practising certificate from the Law Society of Scotland. A background in both residential and commercial property is essential, and a knowledge of the charity or voluntary sector would be advantageous but is not required.
This is a hybrid role with office presence required in central Edinburgh 3 days per week. The position offers a competitive salary, along with an excellent benefits package including a generous employer pension contribution, flexible working, and enhanced family policies.
This is an opportunity to join a respected and values-driven organisation where your legal skills will directly support community-focused work across Scotland and beyond.
If this position may be of interest, please contact Teddie or Cameron for a confidential initial discussion. (Assignment 17405)
