Role Purpose:
This is a new product testing role within the company, encompassing the full lifecycle of test engineering—from defining test cases to developing test tools, executing tests, and managing facilities. It suits someone with broad engineering knowledge, imagination, and drive.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
* Analyze conformance specifications to derive test requirements
* Plan, design, and communicate test cases validating requirements across electro-mechanical systems for development and production phases
* Design test jigs, harnesses, and software, including automation where appropriate
* Implement data processing/filtering software to extract relevant results
* Manage internal test facilities (test tanks, ovens, pools, lifting equipment)
* Liaise with external test facilities (EMC, vibration, pools, etc.)
* Execute tests in a safe and controlled manner
* Perform fault finding and failure analysis
* Document and present results and findings
Qualifications and experience:
* HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
* Minimum 3 years in a test-focused role or in test equipment development
* Proven experience in data capture and analysis
* Experience working on multidisciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software)
* Experience in an engineering NPI environment
* Excellent knowledge of test equipment and platforms
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience with National Instruments test software platforms, creating test functions within LabView/TestStand
* Hands-on experience with electronic circuit construction, testing, and diagnostics
* Innovative mindset with sound engineering principles
* Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
* Knowledge of product certification, industry standards, and best practices
* Experience in the offshore and subsea industry is a plus
* Experience with control of NI hardware and proprietary test equipment
* Programming skills in Python, C, C#, C++, VB, etc.
* Understanding of mechanical principles and applications
* Familiarity with compliance standards (CE/DNV)
* Previous customer-facing experience
