Project Engineer vacancy in Broughton (039DM)
Salary: £27.75 per hour PAYE - £36.70 per hour Umbrella
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer within the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) function based in Broughton. The contract will be running till 31‑12‑2026. The ME team plays a critical role in enabling manufacturing operations, working in close partnership with shopfloor teams to minimise disruption while delivering innovative, robust and value‑adding solutions. As a key member of this team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects that enable and improve production processes, while meeting safety, cost and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the business through process mapping and definition of operational requirements
* Managing project activities across the full lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, integration, functional and technical acceptance, and deployment
* Supporting crane and lifting operations through the development of safe and effective lifting processes
* Ensuring delivery in line with agreed budgets, schedules and resource plans
* Working collaboratively with stakeholders to define and transition from “AS IS” to “TO BE” solutions
* Providing project financial management, including cost‑benefit analysis, planning, estimating, budgeting, funding, expense management and billing
* Producing all required project documentation in accordance with the agreed governance framework
* Identifying, reporting and managing project risks, dependencies and interdependencies
* Actively managing risks to ensure projects are delivered on time, to cost and to the required quality standards
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in project management, including use of methodologies such as LBIP or Agile, and tools such as Planisware or equivalent
* Project Management accreditation (desirable)
* Experience of lifting and handling methods (desirable)
* Experience working within a production or manufacturing environment
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
* Ability to analyse complex topics and present them clearly and simply to a range of stakeholders
* Familiarity with tools and techniques such as Click ’n Buy, FMEA, SWOT analysis, 5 Whys, Fishbone analysis and process flowcharts (desirable)
* Experience in generating technical specifications based on operational requirements
