Grinding Manufacturing Engineer

Prime Location: Leicester, Meridian Business Park, LE19 1WH

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 4.15 pm, Friday 7.30 am to 12 noon

About The Job

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager working collaboratively to support active projects. Working as a team within the business, your focus will be to standardize best practice, implementing SOPs for all equipment allowing operators to systematically execute a right first-time approach.

You will oversee and ensure all parts conform to the operation drawings performing periodic spot checks at intervals throughout the working day.

You will be required to support all associates in the Grinding department regarding operator training along with additional support to embed new methods and processes.


What will you be doing?

A change to the normal processes may be required, but you will be the catalyst of how we implement and embed change.

When scoping out new projects you will challenge the status quo and propose alternative solutions with a mindset to always standardize and simplify processes.

As a Grinding Manufacturing Engineer, you would be expected to have knowledge of the below requirements.

* CNC centreless grinding
* Manual centreless grinder
* Diamond dressing technology
* Speeds and feeds for effective wheel trim
* Tool and fixture designs


Qualifications

What do you need…

Previous experience using any ERP systems would be an advantage.

SolidWorks experience would be preferred but training can be provided.

Ability to read technical drawings and interpret tolerance stacking between op drawings is a must.

Evidence a strong mechanical understanding with the ability to problem solve.

Have the ability to understand how to rationalize and simply process which can be systematically replicated.

Have a desire to immerse themselves into converting real time data to provide production solutions along with automation integration such as robot loading.

In addition to supporting our grinding section, as a Grinding engineer you will also engineer SOPs and uphold best in class engineered solution to support our Thread roll, fillet roll and Stamping department.
