Attendance Officer – Outstanding Secondary School – Tower Hamlets (East London) Start Date: As soon as possible Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join an Outstanding secondary school in Tower Hamlets. This is a key role within the school, focused on improving student attendance, supporting families and ensuring that robust systems are in place to monitor and track attendance effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily attendance process, ensuring registers are accurate and following up on absences promptly. You will work closely with pastoral leaders, senior staff and external agencies to support students who are at risk of persistent absence. The role requires someone who is confident working with data, able to identify trends and implement strategies to improve attendance outcomes. You will be expected to communicate regularly with parents and carers, maintaining a professional and supportive approach while addressing attendance concerns. Strong organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
