The Opportunity
We have a new opportunity for an Air Quality & Climate Consultant due to an increasing climate-focused pipeline. Join our growing Air Quality and Climate team, working on large-scale projects including climate risk and adaptation, air quality permitting, Habitats Regulations Assessment, and DMRB assessments.
This role offers a chance to influence our team’s growth, shape impactful environmental projects, support business development, and mentor apprentices. The position is permanent, with flexible hybrid working options across multiple UK locations.
The role
You will support project delivery, work collaboratively, and receive mentorship and development opportunities. Responsibilities include:
* Preparing reports, designs, calculations, and documentation for environmental schemes.
* Conducting air quality assessments for roads and industrial permitting.
* Supporting climate risk assessments and developing adaptation plans.
* Assisting in bid writing for tenders.
* Mentoring junior colleagues and promoting health and safety practices.
Specific tasks include:
Air Quality:
* Supporting qualitative and quantitative assessments following relevant guidance.
* Developing dispersion models using ADMS software.
* Supporting Environmental Permit applications and liaising with regulators.
Climate:
* Performing climate risk assessments and using climate projection tools.
* Developing climate resilience strategies.
Business Development:
* Supporting growth in air quality and climate sectors.
* Preparing proposals and bids.
Candidate requirements
* Relevant degree in science/engineering and preferably a second degree.
* Membership or progress towards IAQM and/or IEMA.
* Knowledge of UK/EU environmental legislation and permitting.
* Experience with EIAs, industrial permitting, climate data, and modeling tools.
* Strong analytical, project management, communication, and stakeholder skills.
