About the role
The Adaptavist Group IT team is a core part of all activities at The Adaptavist Group. This role is part of a technically strong, supportive and friendly semi-autonomous team. The IT team is the key contact for IT issues and questions, both from our service desk and as part of our direct engagement with the business units across the company.
This position will support The Adaptavist Group and be the IT focal point for one of our partner companies. The aim is to provide support that is closely tailored to the user and business needs and help continually evolve our platforms to ensure that IT improves. This includes assisting with 1st/2nd/3rd-line issues, provisioning hardware, and guiding users to work strategically to enhance internal systems, processes, and security.
For our partner company, there is a requirement to be in London one to two times a week.
As a global company, the IT function supports employees globally, as needed.
What you'll be doing
* Support The Adaptavist Group and partner company IT functions.
* Manage Apple hardware with device management tools.
* Support Mac OS X as our primary IT-supported operating system.
* Manage and maintain our key information systems from Atlassian (Confluence, Jira, etc), and as a key Atlassian partner, we have extensive access to knowledge and expertise in this area.
* Maintain, repair and upgrade the operating system including Google Suite, Zoom, Slack and AWS’s cloud platforms, extensively.
* Monitor the performance of existing computer systems and IT infrastructure while recommending improvements when needed.
* Respond to ticket requests that come to the department from internal stakeholders.
* Support new employees in the set-up of their IT software before they join.
* Work with stakeholders to evaluate new features and systems to integrate them into the business.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
* Experience in managing Apple hardware.
* Ability to use and update Mac OS X.
* Knowledgeable and able to provide support, including: Atlassian Jira and Confluence, end device management, GSuite, and Office 365.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Team player, but can demonstrate the ability to be self-sufficient when needed.
* Natural desire to share knowledge through documentation and cross-training of peers.
* Have some flexibility on working hours to work with non-UK teams.
A few nice to haves
* Experience in Atlassian applications tool.
* Experience in maintenance of PCs with Windows / Linux.
