Main Purpose of Role
The Salesforce Administrator is accountable for the day-to-day administration, configuration and optimisation of our Salesforce platform. You will ensure the platform supports business growth through robust configuration, data integrity and user enablement, while championing best practices and continuous improvement. This role is critical in driving adoption, supporting business processes and maintaining compliance across all Salesforce services.
Principal Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Configuration:
* Manage user accounts, roles, profiles, permission sets and licence allocation.
* Configure standard and custom objects, fields (including formula fields), page layouts, record types and list views.
* Design and maintain declarative automation (Flows, validation rules and approval processes).
* Create and maintain reports and dashboards for different stakeholder groups.
* Monitor platform health, usage and limits (e.g. storage, API calls, automation limits) and take proactive action to prevent issues.
Operational Support & Change Management:
* Provide 1st-line support for Salesforce users, resolving queries and issues promptly and professionally.
* Manage and triage change requests, ensuring proper documentation, testing and quality assurance before deployment.
* Support environment and release management, including sandbox usage and deployment processes.
* Maintain accurate platform documentation (configuration, processes, data dictionaries and user guides).
* Champion knowledge sharing within the CRM team and across the business.
* Take part in agile delivery at all appropriate stages
Data Integrity & Compliance:
* Ensure data quality, integrity and security across Salesforce and integrated systems.
* Conduct periodic access reviews and audit trail checks, maintaining accurate records.
* Embed GDPR and internal data protection policies in all platform activities.
* Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
* Stay informed about Salesforce releases and recommend relevant enhancements to improve user experience and efficiency.
* Support user adoption through training, clinics and creation of help materials (quick guides, how-to articles, short videos).
What we would like from you
* Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM-201) essential; additional Salesforce certifications (e.g. Platform App Builder, Sales/Service Cloud Consultant) desirable.
* Hands-on experience administering Salesforce across Sales, Service, Commerce and/or Experience Cloud, ideally with Marketing Cloud experience.
* Proficiency with declarative tools (Flows, validation rules, approval processes) and configuration best practices.
* Strong understanding of data protection, consent management and compliance requirements.
* Desirable: Familiarity with Apex basics, SOQL, integrations and ETL tools; experience of Azure and/or data pipelines.
