Design Manager – Ceilings and Partitions Turning conceptual ideas into buildable solutions is one of the most valuable and often overlooked skills in construction. The Design Manager plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between design intent and on-site delivery, especially when it comes to highly detailed packages like ceilings and partitions. Our client, a leading subcontractor specialising in the design and installation of ceilings and partitions, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their growing team. Operating exclusively within the commercial fit-out sector, they deliver complex, high-value projects for Tier 1 main contractors such as Overbury, Mace Interiors, and Structuretone. As a Design Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the technical design process across multiple projects. You’ll lead the design coordination for ceilings and partitions from Stage 4 & 5 design through to delivery, working closely with clients, site teams, and CAD Technicians. Your responsibilities will include attending site and client meetings, reviewing technical details, and ensuring everything is built exactly as specified. Approximately 60% of the role involves hands-on technical drawing using AutoCAD. You’ll be joining a team that takes pride in its expertise in ceilings and partitions, consistently delivering high-quality work in fast-paced commercial environments. The successful Design Manager will bring both technical design skills and a collaborative mindset to the table. What You Can Expect: * A vibrant, team-oriented workplace with pool, darts, football tables, and regular social events. * Flexibility around personal appointments, though please note this is an office-based role with no work-from-home option. * 25 days holiday plus additional time off at Christmas, company pension, private healthcare, and paid travel. * A clear career path with mentorship from a Senior Design Manager and support from CAD Technicians. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Manager looking to specialise in ceilings and partitions, work on high-profile fit-out projects, and grow within a company that values design excellence and technical precision
