The AV Operations Manager delivers and supports technology services including networking, desktop support, audio, video, HSIA, webcasting, and basic lighting for corporate meetings and events. This role collaborates with customers, the AV Management Team, and property/event teams to ensure excellent meeting and client experiences.

1. Provide ad-hoc troubleshooting and assistance to customers of all technology competency levels.
2. Book staff and any additional AV equipment required to successfully execute an event.
3. Assist with troubleshooting AV equipment, including but not limited to audio, video, lighting, computer networking systems, and hardware.
4. Assist with Client Coordination in advance to preprogram and ensure all their technological requirements are seamlessly in place for their arrival
5. Lead pre-program coordination with property teams, and the AV Team, ensuring that all their technological needs are met and in place for their arrival.
6. Provide genuine anticipatory customer service by establishing good working relationships with Convene team members, divisions, and vendors.
7. Audit tech quotes to ensure review is completed ahead of events and attend PEO, Pre-Con, and pre-production meetings as needed.
8. Supervise daily floor operations, lead room teams, oversee equipment, and support other ad hoc AV property functions.
9. Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and assist with any reasonable requests during programs.
10. Develop a weekly schedule for site execution and coordinate with other locations to share resources for optimal efficiency within the area of operations
11. Assist in any areas of daily operation.
12. Participate in collaborative project efforts with both the technology team and other departments.
13. Review and recommend updates to departmental SOPs on a quarterly basis.
14. Maintain and uphold Convenes cultural standards
15. Perform other duties as requested by management.
16. Show initiative and drive to solve problems.
17. Portray a polished, professional image according to Convene dress code standards.

What We Look For:

18. 3-4 years of experience in supporting AV and IT equipment and computer software systems.
19. Customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
20. Demonstrate knowledge of audiovisual equipment including analog/digital audio mixers, wireless microphone systems, seamless video switchers, and projectors/displays.
21. Possess a basic understanding of Crestron and other central control systems.
22. Basic knowledge of data networking principles, architecture, and applications.
23. Experience in the basic installation, configuration, operation and administration of operating systems, applications and hardware for Macs, PCs, LANs, and servers.
24. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google worksuite, and Apple iWorks suite of business applications.
25. Flexible, long, and weekend hours are sometimes required.
26. Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
27. Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
28. Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period.
29. Ability to climb and work on a ladder for lengthy periods.

Equipment & Technical Qualifications:

30. Audio: 4-48 channel analog/digital mixers, wireless microphone lavaliers and handhelds, push to talk microphone systems, audio recorders. Familiarity with Biamp Server/Forte systems is a plus.
31. Video: Switchers, projectors, LCD displays, LED Video Walls, Media Server familiarity a plus
32. Lighting: Knowledge of Lighting Maps, lighting concepts, and lighting best practices, familiarity with rigging.
33. IT: Wi-Fi troubleshooting, connecting hardline internet, Knowledge of DHCP/Static IP addressing, operating, other collaboration tools and equipment
34. Hybrid: Familiarity with virtual meeting and event platform functions as well as livestreaming technologies including cameras, encoders, and lighting, and transmission protocols i.e. RTMPs/HLS/SRT.

Control: Familiarity with Crestron control systems and associated hardware, familiarity with AVoIP fundamentals a plus
