Reed Learning is a market leading centre for all levels of CIPD professional qualifications, delivering HR/L&D apprenticeships and in-company soft skills training. We hope that, like us, you’ll feel proud to be part of a team that inspires, supports and develops HR and L&D professionals with the skills they need to enhance their careers. Pay Range Job Description Key Responsibilities Client Leadership & Consultancy · Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building trusted relationships with senior leaders (Heads of Service, Directors and equivalents). · Lead early-stage conversations to understand organisational context, workforce challenges and desired outcomes. · Shape learning and OD solutions collaboratively, often working with ambiguity at the outset. · Develop project plans and statements of work; for larger projects, work alongside a project manager. · Manage ongoing client relationships to ensure work delivers value and leads to repeat engagement. Design & Delivery · Design, deliver and continuously improve learning programmes – most commonly leadership, management and “human skills” development. · Deliver approximately 60 days of training per year, both in person and virtually. · Lead the design of programmes rather than delivering pre-prepared content. · Contribute to the development of reusable intellectual property and coherent learning products over time. · Engage associates and specialists where appropriate, determining when and how to bring in additional expertise. Commercial & Business Contribution · Contribute to shaping the commercial aspects of client work, including scope and pricing (with increasing autonomy over time). · Support bid activity by contributing to solution design and pricing, working with a dedicated Bid Manager. · Represent Reed Learning professionally with clients and, on occasion, at events or conferences. · Be an active member of the Client Services management team, contributing to strategic discussions and how Reed Learning presents itself to the market. What Success Looks Like · Clients see you as a trusted, credible partner who understands their organisational challenges. · Programmes deliver measurable impact and strong learner feedback. · Client relationships deepen and generate repeat work. · Training delivery is thoughtful, human and high-quality. · You operate with sound judgement, growing autonomy and commercial awareness. Essential Experience & Attributes · A genuine love of training, with enthusiasm for delivering regularly. · Proven ability to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders. · Significant experience leading L&D or OD projects, including stakeholder management. · Extensive experience designing and delivering training programmes from scratch. · Comfortable working with ambiguity and shaping solutions collaboratively. · Strong personal values: fairness, openness, respect for others and a willingness to take ownership. · Commercial awareness and an understanding of balancing quality with sustainability. Desirable Experience · Coaching qualification and/or proven coaching experience. · Background in organisational development, transformation, change or culture development. · Public sector experience, particularly within local authorities. · Experience working with learning technology or blended solutions. · Contract or project commercial management experience. Ways of Working & Culture · This role offers high trust and significant autonomy, balanced with support and collaboration. · While you will work independently at times, you will be supported through regular connection, shared problem-solving and access to expertise across the business. · We value integrity, kindness, professionalism and shared ownership. · You will be proud to represent Reed Learning with clients and partners. We also recognise that no one arrives with everything. Curiosity, judgement and a willingness to learn matter as much as experience. Location & Flexibility · The role is remote-first, with flexibility measured across weeks and months rather than days. · Regular travel to client sites is required (usually around one day per week, depending on client needs). · Candidates must be able to travel easily to London (within approximately 30 minutes by train). · We actively support flexible working arrangements and are open to discussing how this role can work for you. Future Development Over time, the role may evolve to include: · Greater focus on complex, high-value client work. · Building and mentoring more junior trainers or consultants. · Increased involvement in shaping Reed Learning’s consulting proposition. Equally, we recognise that some people will always want to focus primarily on delivery – and that is valued too. We’re always on the lookout for people who want to make a difference and are passionate about helping others progress their careers.
