Nuclear Supply Chain Manager
A leading engineering organisation within the UK energy sector is expanding its New Nuclear capability to support major new build projects across the country. This includes delivering mechanical, electrical, HVAC and supporting engineering services under stringent nuclear safety and quality standards.
The Nuclear Supply Chain Manager will play a key role in developing, qualifying and managing a nuclear-compliant supply chain to support safe, efficient and high-integrity project delivery.
The Role
This is a senior operational leadership position, reporting to the Commercial and Supply Chain Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust supply chain that aligns with nuclear safety culture, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
This role requires a proactive leader with strong procurement and supply chain expertise, commercial awareness, and a deep understanding of nuclear quality assurance, traceability and safety case integration.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the principal advisor on all supply chain matters to senior leadership.

Serve as the subject matter expert for supply chain activities
*
Develop, implement and maintain a nuclear-compliant supply chain strategy.
*
Ensure full application of nuclear quality assurance requirements, including grading, hold points, LTQR and traceability.

Lead supplier and subcontractor pre-qualification, audits and approval processes in line with ISO 19443, ISO 9001 and nuclear industry standards.

Establish and manage supply chain performance metrics across quality, delivery, cost and compliance.
*
Implement supply chain assurance programmes, including surveillance, corrective actions and continuous improvement tracking.
*
Lead controls for Counterfeit, Fraudulent and Suspect Items (CFSI) prevention, detection and reporting.
*
Interface with licensee procurement and quality teams to ensure full alignment of processes and documentation.
*
Work closely with commercial, engineering and quality functions to validate materials, documentation and manufacturing records.

Support project teams with strategic sourcing, risk mitigation and capability mapping.
*
Lead supply chain readiness reviews and manufacturing surveillance activities.
*
Support procurement planning with early supplier engagement.
*
Build long-term strategic supplier relationships to strengthen nuclear capability.

Maintain supply chain strategies, procedures, standards and governance frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience
*
Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Engineering or a related discipline.
*
Professional accreditation (CIPS, MCIPS or similar) desirable.
*
Proven experience in supply chain management within nuclear, defence or other highly regulated sectors.
*
Strong background in supplier qualification, auditing and nuclear QA compliance.
*
Understanding of nuclear safety culture.

Experience leading teams within high-integrity, safety-critical project environments
