We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Business Administrator to provide support to the Tribunals Team which forms part of the Education Division Assessment and Planning team. We are part of a Local Authority dedicated to championing change for children.
The Senior Business Administrator (Tribunals) provides vital support and works closely with the Tribunals Team will play a vital role in supporting the Council - helping us provide a better service to the people of East Sussex. It’s fast-paced and varied, but we’ll make sure you get all the training and support you need to succeed.
This role is varied and will include duties such as:
1. Preparing papers and/or digital files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings.
2. Producing court/tribunal documents.
3. Creating and updating records on our CRM system.
4. Post, opening and dispatch.
5. Booking, preparing and organising meeting rooms, supporting training courses and other group activities.
6. Preparing meeting agenda, joining instructions, handouts etc
7. Standard minutes, notes, reports, submissions etc, according to guidelines and instructions.
8. Processing appeal paperwork, including standard documentation and information, new appeal paperwork and court orders.
9. Working to workload targets in terms of throughput and accuracy.
10. A high-quality administrative service to the team.
11. Communicate effectively and deliver a helpful, prompt, polite and “right first time” service for all court staff, Judiciary and internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will work in our Children's Services Department providing high level administrative support to our Tribunals team who support children and young people with Special Educational Needs, and their families, in East Sussex. You will need great organisational skills, accurate minute taking skills, the ability to work under pressure, excellent communication and MS Office skills and a desire to make a difference to the families we work with.
This role is subject to a hybrid working agreement currently set at 3 days on site at County Hall, Lewes and 2 days working from home. Please note this is subject to change at short notice dependant on service requirements and demands.

Interviews are scheduled for Thursday 30 May 2024 and will be in the form of a face-to-face interview, followed by a task. This will be in County Hall, Lewes.
You will be working at County Hall; the Head Office for the County Council, based on the edge of Lewes Town Centre, which is within walking distance to the town and train station. County Hall is also on a bus route and car parking is available on site at a reduced rate for employees.
