Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced escalator call‑out and repair engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering our London Underground escalator portfolio. The priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.
Typical Responsibilities
* Carry out breakdown and repair work on all escalators within the portfolio to achieve continuous operation.
* Work within the London Underground network, managing the portfolio of escalators.
* Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first‑time fix.
* Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering or equivalent, with significant experience in service and maintenance of escalators.
* Experienced escalator engineer with in‑depth knowledge of a variety of brands of equipment.
* Valid UK driver’s licence.
* Flexibility and availability for overtime.
* Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
* Commitment to safety, professionalism and effective communication.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team and adapt to changing situations.
* Comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
